About Oats
○ Welcome dear readers, today we answer this question: Can you eat oatmeal in a keto diet? and does it stop the fat burning?
So there are two kinds of oats:
▪ First: Sliced oats or Irish or Scottish oats, which are unprocessed oats.
▪ Second: Oats are fast, and usually contain a large amount of sugar or brown sugar.
If you look at the glycemic index of oatmeal, it's 55, not too high or too low, but a little too high for the keto diet, which means that it will be converted to sugar in some way, and the fast processed oatmeal is 83, before the sugar is added, which means it will quickly turn to sugar because it has undergone a larger treatment.
The higher the glycemic index, the worse the food is for weight loss, so one should not eat fast-prepared oats, and one should not buy packets with added sugar, as these packets are harmful to health.
As for the nutrients in oats, it contains only a small amount of oats, not that it is completely nutrient-free, it contains petaglukan, which is useful for cholesterol control.
If one is trying to lose weight and follow a low-carbohydrate keto diet, eating oats is not recommended because it will slow down one's weight loss; if one is not trying to lose weight, it's okay to eat it, but care should be taken to eat the low-cut oats in the index. It really takes more time to prepare, but it's healthier than the fast-paced type.
And the prayer and peace to the Prophet Muhammad.
